A Shopper Discovered Someone Had Placed A Tracker On Her Car
A motorist is warning others to check their cars after finding a "tracker" placed on her Audi.
Micki – who did not want her surname published for privacy reasons – noticed the device on the bottom of her vehicle as she returned to it at Bluewater shopping centre.
Parked in the underground car park by the John Lewis store, the 29-year-old tried to remove it but failed. She said: "I was a bit wary and do not know an awful lot about cars. I thought something had come loose so I tried to give it a wiggle but it was rock solid.
Hiding a GPS tracker on someones car in a public car park is easier and more common than you would think.
Car parks are full of people going about their business and why would they pay any attention to someone laying underneath a car in plain sight.
If the person putting the tracker on the car know what they are doing, it takes less than 10 seconds to get under the car and place the tracker in a place where it would be difficult to see and find. Job done!
The user then can wait for the car to move and sit back and monitor its movements and activity from the comfort of their mobile phone.
Today's covert car trackers are easy to monitor and extremely accurate as to the vehicles location and status. The software will even alert the user when the GPS tracker battery is low.
